🛒 Ingredients
For the broth:

1 kg (2.2 lbs) brisket

3 L (12.5 cups) water

5 tbsp anchovy fish sauce

1 tbsp beef stock powder (or Korean dashida)
For the pho bowl:

Dried rice noodles (pho noodles)

Bean sprouts
-
Green onions (sliced)
-
Red chili (sliced)
-
Fresh cilantro
-
Brisket slices (from the broth)

Pho broth
For the marinated onions:

1 onion (thinly sliced)
-
2 tbsp sugar
-
3 tbsp lemon juice
-
3 tbsp water
🍲 Instructions
1. Make the broth
In a large pot, combine the following and simmer over low heat for at least 2 hours, until the liquid reduces to about 1.5 liters:

3 L water

1 kg brisket
Remove the brisket and slice it thinly for later use.
2. Prepare marinated onions
In a bowl, mix the following and let it sit for at least 30 minutes:

Thinly sliced onion

2 tbsp sugar

3 tbsp lemon juice

3 tbsp water
3. Season the broth and cook noodles
To the 1.5 L of broth, add:

5 tbsp anchovy fish sauce

1 tbsp beef stock powder (dashida)
Bring to a boil. Add rice noodles and cook for 30 seconds (or according to package instructions).
4. Assemble your pho bowl
In a large bowl, layer the following:

Marinated onions + 2 tbsp of marinade liquid
